Default Converter recommendation for my truck.

Just put the Comp XR265HR-14 camshaft in my 4.8 along with fresh 862 heads. The stock converter seems ok with it but it feels like a higher than stock stall would help it some. Any recommendations? Truck is a 2000 GMC Sierra Ex-Cab. It has factory 245/75-R16 and 3.73 gears. TIA

What are your goals? Most people with your mods would go with a stock diameter 3000-3200 converter. I personally like higher performance small diameter converters. Install a 9.5/10.5" converter with a 3600+ stall speed and it will make your truck a monster.

The smaller the converter the more fun the truck will be. 3600+

Occasionally towing my 18ft bass boat but mostly just local driving. Don't want horrible gas mileage though.

I just bought this one from Circle D, and love it so far. I got the 2A stall speed.

Give us a call at the shop and talk to one of our converter guys. Looks like you're in Ocala so were pretty local to you(Deland).

You can also fill out our build sheet online if you prefer that at the link below.

Is this Greg or an employee? This is Dan Neumann of Dan Neumann Race Cars. This is for my personal truck which I just did upgrades on. I also have another car I need to get converter input on so I'll be in touch.

I'm going FTI, ordering my converter next week. The pre-purchase help with all my crazy questions was that good.

Didn't realize you guys were in Deland, so close to me in Lauderdale.

Glad we could help with all your questions! Once you get that converter in there you're close enough you'll have to come join us for burnout Friday's.

I will likely be going with the FTI converter also. Deland is an hour drive away from me so that in itself makes it a no brainer. Plus they have a great reputation. I'll be in touch soon as I plan on finishing this project asap.
