Default 245mm vs 258mm Triple Disk Converter

Just trying to see what opinion there is for an 800+rwhp turbo/procharged converter preference?

The 258 seems like it would hold power better with the larger disks and may be tighter for street driving, but just wanted to know if the lighter 245 would hold the same power and be as good on the street?

Really looking at the CircleD 3B 258mm 3400 stall and a 4C 245mm 3600 stall. Have the 2E 4000 245mm single disk now and it's a great NA converter. So wanted to do the converter upgrade program through CircleD.

I have the 245mm 5C for my 80e.
I love it but I have to do the Sonnax line to lube reg now as the converter drags a little in drive and a lot in reverse.
More so when its cold.
It gets a little better when trans warms up.

Hmm. I've heard of them having issues at idle with adding a lot of load to the car. That doesn't seem great.

Yeah, you probably wouldn't notice it with a single disc. With 3 of them in there it has to make it worse.
Other then that ,It's great!
It will be installed mid next week.
Converter/trans is awesome!
Wouldn't have went any other route.
Punishes the DR's just like my th350 with my 8" treemaster.

Okay, so that's about what I expected.

Would a supercharger or turbo be worse on the trans? I know a supercharger is worse on the engine with the stress of turning the blower on the crank, but does that get transmitted to the converter/trans as they are bolted to the crank as well?

Or would the sudden hit of boost from a turbo put more stress on the trans/converter?

Assuming you heard that from me, please consider it only a hunch, not a fact.

I have the larger 258mm triple disk because tightness on the street is more important than ET performance.
I would expect the slightly heavier 258mm to give a smoother idle.
As I have mentioned here, my CircleD 3600 triple disk is just as tight on the street as my previous Yank SS3600.

Also, turbos and supercharger build power much more gradually than nitrous and therefore stress the trans and drivetrain less. Its the instant boost of nitrous that tends to overpower a converter, break the trans output shaft, etc.
