ive been doing a lil rescearch for the same thing from what ive gatherd from internet and tranny shops the 400 is stronger but the 400 takes more power to make power it eats it up like no other, the 350 can hold quite a bit im gona try a built one with my setup of 430rwhp on motor and over 600rwhp on spray well see how well its does??

400 is heavier but can take more power. 350 is lighter and usually can take you in the 600hp range (depending on who builds it). I personally am going with a th400 cause it will be my daily driver and can hold up to the street usage.

th350 are not only lighter but they stay together if they ever blow i have a th350 and that handles about 700hp, now the th400 are heavier and when they blow you better be ready to replace more than just your tranny, by saying that i mean when they go the case and everything blows so if you do decide to go with a th400 make sure that you have a trans cover or something to protect yourself
