not going into park or neutral

not going into park or neutral i have a 2000 z-28 went home last night and tryed to put into park. the car would stay in revrse when i tryed to put it into drive and then in to neutral it shifted into revrse long story short i have no park or neutral when in park its in revrse when in neutral its in drive

Your cable is out of adjustment, sounds like the shifter positions and the trans lever are not syncronized anymore. I would say, get under your car and disconnect the cable and put the trans in park, then place the shifter and park ... check all the gear positions to see if they match. DO NOT HAVE THE CAR ON THOUGH! It sounds like you just need to readjust the cable connections or replace your cable. Check for binding as well. Good luck!.
