Default trans mount question i know i know

I just installed my poly trans mount. I have an automatic transmission, and I was wondering where is a safe way to jack up the transmission? I put a block on top of my jack and I put it on the transmission pan. Is that a safe place to do it?

That will work. Thr transmission pan is strong and have used that to drop the transmission several times.

I've done this several times, and I just set the jack on the pan to where I'm not raising it, but it fits snuggly and I've never used any blocks of wood. There's no reason to raise it while doing a mount swap.

I needed to raise it because the transmission support gets in the way of the 2 bolts that mount the tranny mount in place into the transmission.
