Default a4 newbie questions

I don't know anything about autos, I've done lots of motor work and tuning with ls1s, but it has always been on an m6.

So I got an '05 GTO with an auto (465le). It is a 4speed right, but I can feel it shift 5 gears when cruising around. Is there 4 gears plus an overdrive? None of the specs show an overdrive ratio.

Could what I'm feeling as a shift actually be the converter locking up in 1st?

Sorry for the stupid questions, but this lockup thing has me confused. Is it something you can usually feel.

Does the converter unlock when the tranny downshifts?

4L65e, breakdown for ya, 4 means 4 speed, L mean longitudenal (rwd), 65 has to do with the strength charateristics and e for electronic. Lock up should be over 40 mph and yes when it downshifts it should unlock. Theres a start for ya

Ok, so I am probably feeling the lockup as a slight shift. No overdrive, right?
3rd is 1:1 and then 4th is the only "overdrive"?
