I want to get a stall convertor for my 00 T/A with auto transmission. Can anyone suggest a good type convertor. I Heard that Vigilante was a good one. Also i hear talks about how lock ups can anyone explain this??? I want to also get a cam in the future, if so do i have to change out my convertor?? Any suggestions would be helpful Thanks

Depends on how much money you want to spend, TCI Super Street Fighter 3500 is a good choice for the price. It locks up at around 45 mph with light throttle, basically the rpms drop and drives normal. Depends on what cam you go with, some require a high stall torque converter.

You may consider what kind cam you will be getting, as you may have to restall the conveter if it is radical. As for what kind, I would suggest finding someone with one already, and go for a ride. For the most part, a good converter will change the car, ina good way, and almost anyone will tell you you' ll like it a lot more. I used to have an M6, and thought I' d never like an A4, but after the converter, I wouldn' t go back. Now, if I can get enough money for a built tranny...
Oh yeah, I have a Yank SS3800

I recently had a TCI SSF 3500 installed. Amazing!! What more can i say.. The Stall is a little big for a stock car(Not that i mind it), yet it's big enough that i won't have to buy another stall once i do a Mild cam with headers etc.. The 2.5 STR even with 3.23's is a little loose around town, not to bad.. but i'd imagine with 3.73's the car would tighten up a bit.. If i had to do it all again, i would pick the same stall again..
BTW- Don't forget some Drag's.. otherwise you'll be trying to leave quickly from a stop..
