i'm really not sure what you mean by reverse, but you can install it either going to or from the cooler.. it comes with everything you need to install it. if you would rather use steel lines, you can plum them in to it too cause i believe the ends on the adapter are threaded and you just screw the barb fittings for the rubber lines.. another cool thing is that it comes with a gauge. the only thing bad i can think of is because there would be another filter on there, but i dont know if would be a bad thing cause the filter is made for transmissions so it has a higher flow rate and all. but yeah i also have the p/n for a replacement filter. so all transmission gods take a look and tell us what yall think. it's the 51622 (bottom)

I have used a remote tranny filter from Transdapt for about 10 years now on a 4L60. It is plumbed in line on the way to the tranny cooler. I spin off the filter after every 3 races and put another one one and top off the fluid.
Every year I change the tranny filter and full fluid. I have never had any deposits on the bottom of the tranny pan.
I also recommend adding a tranny drain plug to your stock pan if it doesn't have one.
Now that I moved up to a 4L80E, I'm going to keep the same style setup.
