Default Converter bolt question...

http://www.ls2.com/forums/showthread...hreadid=345185

Basically the holes in the flexplate are significantly larger than the threaded holes in the converter. Has anyone else encountered this? Will it be ok to install like this or does anything need to be done?

Talking

Does your flywheel have one hole in it that has flat spots on both sides of the bolt hole? If so start that one first and it should center the other two.

All of the holes line up, there are 6 holes in the flexplate and 3 of them line up with the holes in the torque converter. They all line up as seen in the above pic.

It is the TCI flexplate, I verified the correct part number. It came with a paper saying that it was, "manufactured with OEM size torque converter mounting holes."

Just for fun I bolted the flexplate to the converter and the extra space around the bolts is letting the converter move slightly.

Looks to me like you need a converter bolt with a shoulder. ARP makes a bolt that will work quite well in your application here is a representation of what i am talking about.

The part number i gave you is actually the flexplate bolts to the crank, the Part number you need is:230-7304

I will make sure they also have a shoulder, I have not installed my converter yet. I won't know until sunday as i am out of town until then.
