Default truck tranny to trans am?

guys would a truck tranny from a 2000 truck fit and work good on my trans am 98 Ls1? and is this a good idea?

it will work, you have to change the tailshaft housing...takes 5 minutes and then the gear selector shaft...about 20 minutes

and how about performance is there a diffrence?

Same tranny other than tailshaft housing.

The second servo, unless it was changed, will not be corvette style and should be changed. Also when you change the tail housing, there is a slip yoke seal on the output shaft to remove. Reason is that one yoke is vented and the other is not.

ok guys thanks for the input now the trans is sliping and the truck tranny is no longer for sale does anybody know a good place to get it rebuilt for a decent price and around how much would that be i live in Lake Jackson tx any help will be appreciated
