Default Can a trans be hurt by?

Can a trans be hurt by haveing the torque converter lockup disabled. i have a oldsmobile im driving temporarily but the car had a lockup selenoid problem so i just pulled the plug to disable lock up. can this cause damage i wouldnt think so being some transmissions dont even lock. i would just loose gas milage correct.

on a factory issued stall speed, i think you're fine.

the only by-product i can see of the converter not locking up is excess heat generated from higher rpm. but most stock stalls are under 2k, so i seriously doubt any damage will occur.

the problem is that the cooler circuit is tied into the lockup and the cooler recives only about half the converter/lube oil without going into lock up. so if you dont it will heat up too high and have lack of lube oil to worry about.
