Talk to some of the local drag racers and see who they use. I'll bet you can find some local guys that will do a great job for you and you want have to worry about shipping issues. I know a couple of different racers that do 350/400s on the side and they will do a good street rebuild all the way up to full race and normally for a pretty good price too.
If you don't know any racers check to see if you have a DACCO transmission parts near by. They'll know who the good local builders are too.
