Default 98 v6 tranny?

got a ? i'm not sure at all if 98+ v6 f-bodies have the 4l60e or not cause my friend found a totalled 98 v6 with 25k miles and they want $550 for the tranny. I was wondering if i can use that tranny to replace my broken tranny or is it much diffent? need to know asap ifs its a 4l60e or not thanx!

According to this:

It has the same ratios if it is a V6 or V8. The only setup difference is the rear gear. Now I would think the bellhousing would be different, but the guts of the tranny would be the same.

sweet thanx alot guys....it does look like it will fit with no other(or very few)mods to get it on and running....i'll try it
