Default 4l60e Only Works in D or 3

Hello all!

I have a 1994 Trans Am GT. Drivetrain is all stock. Tranny fluid looks old, but is not brown or black, and does not smell burnt.

The other day, I placed the gear selector into 1, and the car would not move forward. It felt as thought the trans slipped badly. Moved the selector towards D, and as it went into 3, the trans grabbed.

Same thing if I put the selector into 2. And it does not matter if I put the transmission into "performance mode".

So, if I use D or 3, all is well. The trans works fine (I can chirp second).

If I use 1 or 2, all is not well.

Anybody able to tell me why this is happening?

94 Was the only year they offered at TA GT. If you ordered the GT, basically you got ALL of the luxury and performance options available.

The easiest way to tell a GT from a regular 94 TA is the hi-rise spoiler.

Looks like I may be purchasing a stall earlier than planned!

Thanks!
