Default Gonna have my mechanic reinstall converter..

How to tell if its not toasted?? although i never heard of one being toasted... its a 2800 VIG so it should goto 2800 between shifts right?

Are you asking what the shift extension will be? What the rpms drop to when it shifts wide open? It should be much higher than 2800 w/ a vig 2800, probably 4200 - 4500 or so would be my guess.

What makes you think something is wrong with the converter? If the converter was installed incorrectly, chances are you trans would not function. Typical mis-installations destroy the trasnsmission pump as soon as you fire the engine up. A Vig2800 will not come down to 2800 after the shift, like previously posted, it will be around 4500 rpms and feel like it is slipping when coming off from a stop light ... compared to a stock stall.

From what I gather from this, you expect it to rev to 2800 at part throttle?

Not going to happen without a heavy foot with that converter. I have to push mine quite a bit (without going WOT of course) to get my SS3600 to run past 2800, usually happens when going uphill only.
