TH350 shifter, linkage, etc
Getting ready to finish my TH350 swap into my 98 Formula.
Need a few last things, and just wondering what everyones experiences were and with what shifters, etc.
I was looking at a B&M shifter, but I'm not sure which one. I won't be hacking the console, just taking it out, so fitment as far as that goes, isn't an issue.
What else will I need to make the shifter work, if it isn't already included with the shifter?
And finally, what do I use for the kickdown. It won't make enough vacuum to downshift on it's own, so what do you guys do for that?
I appreciate any help.

I always thought the vacuum was for line pressure modulation while an actual cable hooked to the throttle linkage controlled kickdown... But then Ive never run a Th350 in any of my cars... Only 700's, and 4L60E's.
So if Im wrong, someone let us know... For the sake education!

Yeah, downshifting on your own should work fine...
Or you can get a kickdown cable and adapt it to your throttle linkage so that it will cause a downshift at the desired throttle position.
Downshifting on your own to pass on the street can be a PITA... If you have an aftermarket tb, you could probably adapt the kickdown cable fairly easy.
Its cake for us LT1 guys, we just need a TB for a 93 or prior F-bod and the provisions are there.

I use a RMVB so I shift it myself. The linkage and stuff comes with the shifter as far as hookup goes, ubolt the small cable **** arm from trans, bolt on the one supplied with shifter, run the cable, pop in the adjuster, adjust as per directions (if you dont you can jack the trans up), and your done. Havent had an issue yet *knocks on wood*.
