Default Unique 4l60e slip problem

This was on my Silverado with 76,000mi, but still the 4l60e. Thought I would post this up for you guys. Strange problem with my trans started about two weeks ago. I would be driving and would here a rattle sound coming up from under the truck, then it would go away. Got worse and worse, louder and louder until I figured it out. I got a small hammer and started to tap around the trans, as soon as I taped the trans pan, the sound stopped. I drove it a few more days until the trans started to slip in all gears. Finally I pulled the trans pan and sure enough the filter was loose, causing the rattle and the slipping. The seal had worn so much that when it was cold, the fluid was thick enough to hold pressure, as soon as it warmed up it would blow around the seal. So this goes to show, before you do anything to your trans, change the filter cause that may be your problem.
