Default Do i need a PCM to run a 4l60e..

i have a 96 4l60e that im trying to put in place of my t-350 in my 67' impala since it popped on me... now ive heard of people having to use a TCU?!?!? i guess instead of the pcm... i just have a Gen 1 chevy 350 block and was wondering if this would work without any electronics... and if so how?

Could just go 700r4 since they are mechanically the same as the 4l60e.
