Default A4 got stuck in OD

Just about 2 months ago I was racin somebody and when I let off at about 70 (which was in 2nd) my car shifted into OD which felt fine but when I slowed down to about 20 I noticed it was still in OD and when I would floor it, it wouldnt downshift. When I made a complete stop it finally went back to 1st. Ive been driving it for 2 months now and I have not encountered that problem anymore. What could of caused this? The trans dont really feel like its goin out but I dont know.

What year is your car? Did it throw any codes when it did it?

Just a guess...sounds like some sort of limp mode due to heat...like the other guys said, it may have a code stored in there.

My ses light has been on due to the rear o2's so I dunno if it sent any codes or not. Transmission was hot after doin several WOT runs so limp mode could be a possibility
