Stock head/cam car that shifts around 6000rpm? Probably something in the 4000 range if there is no power adder yet. Once you add a blown engine with an extra 200-300hp, it will flash higher and hopefully you're combination will rev higher also. Your 4000 stall will now flash to 5000+ and if you're shifting around 7000rpm, it might work out pretty good. Then again, you might need different internal parts for a higher hp combo for an efficient pass down the track.
It's hard to plan stuff like this but if you can stick to your engine plan, order the converter for the blown setup(600-800hp?) and run it behind the pea shooter engine for now. It won't be perfect but it will be tight and it will be begging for a 100-150 shot to get you moving from a dead dig...Sounds fun to me Trial and error is part of the game also. Fuddle built my PG converter and it was supposed to be 4000rpm on motor and 5500 on nitrous...Well I installed it and it was 5000 on motor which gets me moving pretty damn good on motor, but if I spray my planned 150-300 shot, it's going to rev to damn high and be extremely innefficient. Most good shops will work with you on re-stalling it as Fuddle is doing. It'll be my only winter mod really, a re-stall..
I'm sure you're already aware that you can spend 500-2500 for a good custom converter from anyone from Fuddle to Neal Chance. Start sending in some spec sheets to PTC, Yank, Neal Chance, Fuddle, Edge and see what they reccomend. Most are really quick to reply with specs and price. Goodluck!

It would definately be quicker as long as it hooks and you make it through the traps without banging a revlimiter. I am thinking about trying that also because I run 3.73's and 27.5" ET Streets. Crossing the traps at 6400, I shift around 7000.

I'm getting an ATI Converter for my glide setup it's a 4500 stall.
But then again mine is not stock, spins 6900-7000 on shifts and traps in the 6400 range. This is with a 28" tire and 4.10's, I'm considering going to a 4.30 or 4.56 setup next.
If you are going to spray off the line I would not go smaller on the tire size, consider a gear change instead.
