rock-on has been removed from the list of sponsors. from what i've heard, their last batch of transmissions have been absolute disasters. also, from what i have heard, they are out of business. in short, your tranny has been reduced to a $2,000 paperweight. it's disgraceful. i can only wish you the best of luck, but i don't think there's anything you can do about it besides buying a new tranny or getting it rebuilt

Sorry about your bad luck.
Next time, go FLT. You won't be sorry.

I also have a Rock on stage 4 tranny in my car....lets just say I haven't been impressed with this tranny AT ALL (my 2nd rock on tranny FWIW, my first one lasted about 2 minutes after start up).
Performa or FLT what is the ball park price on going through the tranny and rebuilding it to what I wanted in the first place....a stout street strip 4l60e that can live with 600 turbohp?
The tranny feels fine, but when I go WOT it really doesn't feel like the power is getting to the ground. My stocker which is also here put the power down a lot better than this "built" tranny.....and that sucker has TONS of track time on it and was still going strong when I pulled it when "upgrading" to a built tranny.
Ballpark figure for each please.
I'm also looking for a great torque converter that will be great for a turbocharged car.....

Rock On
Juiced, I bought a stage 4 rock on still in the box from another member here on LS1tech about a month ago and almost everything I could find about them at that time was positive(there were a few guys having some trouble). Before I could even install it, the front bushing had to be replaced. I couldn't even turn the converter when trying to get it seated. After fixing that, I installed it and the real trouble began. This thing shook like hell and I finally just pulled it out. The guy I bought it from won't respond, so I guess instead of him being screwed by rock on, I get the honors. He will not even help out with the additional costs I have incurred. But if you find anything out about those guys, post it up!!!

thats what i have to say about dave and his son at rock on. they are cowards and wount even dare think about getting on these fourms and talking to former customers. ii would really love to give dave a pice of my mind. im considering an new tranny for my new ride but i feel as if i cant trust anyone after being screwed by rock on. i want some one that is going to stand behind there waranty and not give me bs like. you installed the convertor wrong thats why your pump broke. ok the how come i put 3,000 miles on it with the conveter installed wrong. now you owe me 560 bucks plus shipping. i dont want any of that. trannys are to expensive and to much of a pain in the *** to be taking in and out. so if someone can convince me otherwise i mite consider buying one

There are many companies that can and do build high horsepower / high performance 4L60E transmissions. There are only so many mods and only so many upgrades that can be done. The biggest consideration to be made in IMHO is, is that transmission being assembled / built on an assembly line or is it hand built by one or two people who actaully know what they are doing and can understand and overcome the issues that present themselves after the sale during the warranty period and beyond. Are these people building a unit that will do what they say it will, for as long as they say it will, and do they stand behind it. Thats what you are looking for.
