Default RPMs still kill with stock power?

i've heard quite a bit that rpms are what kill transmissions, does this apply to near stock power? (338 RWHP)

im about to put on a 75 shot of nitrous on but will stop the spray at 5800 even though my shift points are more like 6500

this still a bad idea or should i get the shifts set down to 6000?

Default

The danger RPM pose is low preasure due to pump collapse with the stock slide spring , So while more power will make the situation worse, The problem exsist reguardless of the power level.
