Default Tuning for stall conveter, info needed!

Well, its almsot time for me to start wrapping up my little project as soon as the tranny is rebuilt so im going to send my pcm back to PCMFORLESS to have a re-tune done which brings me to my question...

I've got a 3k stall along with heads/cam etc and im going to be putting in a shift kit. I remember a while back I read something that said when putting a stall in you should extend your gears as in mph etc. The cam I picked out peaks at 6300 so im having my shift points set to 6350 and limiter at 6400.

What should I tell pcmforless to do as far as the stall? should he extend shift points etc.? if so, by how much?

thanks for the help fellas!

I think the shift points and the rev limiter are to close for comfort. Rememeber though the pcm can comand the shift at the speed of light the trans is mechanical and it takes it a moment to respond, I would have at least a 200 rpm spread, And some trans may need a little more than that , I have seen post where you needed 400 rpm spacing.

well if the cam peaks at 6300 i can have it shift at 6300 and set the limiter to 6450. 6500 sounds high to me, I really dont want it to hit above 6500 at the very most

like I said I would try and leave about 200 rpm between comand and actual shift and thats assuming a well built trans with quick shifts.

well, im using your 9.5 inch 3k stall, and gonna use a trans go stage 2 shift kit and the trans is getting new bands/clutches/servo/sungear all that mess.

so if the cam peaks at 6300, i can safely set the command to 6200 and not loose any power doing it this way with the limiter at 6400?
