Default Need help quick! TCI 3500 to Yank 4000

My car is in the tranny shop right now getting built for a lil extra power . Here is the deal, currently I'm using a TCI SSF 3500, and it has about 15k on it, still locks up, performs great. The car puts down 400/380, 3.23 gears, and has 350 RWTQ at 3500 RPMS. Now I'm wondering, will there be a noticeable difference between that and switching to a Yank 4000 stall? (STR difference is 2.5 for the TCI and 2.6 for the Yank). Would it net me any measureable gain at the track? If so what would you think? Thanks! I need to know kinda soon so I can call my tranny guy in the morning and tell him I'm going to overnight a converter to him. Thanks!

EDIT: Assuming Yank keeps these in stock and I wont have to wait for it to be built?

I went from a TCI 3k to a yank 3600 and have not seen a big improvement at the track (mostly due to weather) but driving around I love the yank so much more..

Are you planning on spraying? You may be where you need to be shift-extension wise.
You might ask Trace over on OKGMP, I think he went from a 3500 (what I have in my car currently also) to a TCI 4400 (when he had the 99 the first time) and he gained 2 or 3 tenths I wanna say? Might be worth it to jump up there, but going by that comparison to a 4000 you may not gain more than a tenth.
But I've heard Yanks are supposed to hit harder than the TCIs do off the line...then you jepordize your 10 bolt a little more.
If you're staying N/A you might look into the Yank PT4400, if spraying check out the SS4000

Ryan, I'll be spraying a 150 shot, after reading that thread I'm a little worried about my TCI, and I just talked to the tranny guy and he is buttoning it back up now. As soon as I'm off work I'm going to give Yank a call and see what they suggest and go from there, I guess I'll just have XP throw the converter in when I get it.

It drives like a normal car, till you romp on it. I had lock up issues with my TCI, found out later I had to have it tuned, but the Yank just drives much better. Like I said though, i have not seen anything at the track yet.. It's gettin hot as hell here in Fla now, so I won't get to try again till later this year to see any improvement, but the car feels quicker in the upper rpm's, pulls harder i think. I have only i think 6 passes on my Yank, and the best 60 I could muster was a 1.70 They best with the TCI was a 1.6x

The 1.70 was a hot day and my MPH was only down 1mph from my best with the TCI so that was a promising sign

I love this stall so far..
