Default what kind of 60-foots are you guys getting with yank ss3600?

hey guys. here's the deal. a couple months back, my car ran some 7.5X and 7.6X's with 1.8X 60 fts. i went to the track friday night and the best i could get out of it was a 7.9X with 1.8X 60's. i havent changed a single thing since the last time i went. i am completely stumped on what could be wrong. it just feels like the car is bogging out of the hole AND we data logged it on EFIlive and it seems to be shifting at like 6200@45mph. my tune has shift points set at 6650@53mph and i cant possible figure out why its shifting early. any ideas?

so all in all, i know my car has run faster and i think the shift points screwed that up, but i feel it has better 60 fts in it. its a full suspension 3400 lb car. can anyone point me in the right direction to fix one of the problems or both.

note: it still has 3.23 gears but i've seen better 60's with this converter. :help:

On the tune, the commanded shift RPM has to match the commanded shift MPH I believe. I was having issues as well with my shift points and my tuner adjusted the commanded MPH and it fixed everything. That's just a guess, but sounds similar to my problem.

thanks for the input. i was reading in another thread something about commanded rpm and mph. what do you mean by "has to match". my 1-2 is set at 6650@53mph. what should i try?

as for the 60 foots, 02white6.0, that dont make me feel so bad. i was hoping for some 1.6's but i guess maybe my hopes are lil high

Was the weather comparable? If the DA was drastically diffrent when you were pulling the 1.8 that could be a major factor there.. Also pull some weight outta the car, and put some skinnies on it.. that will help the 60ft alot

you also need to have the Torque to get out of the whole on a 1.6, even with the best traction it takes a certain amount of power to accomplish that sort of a launch. Not saying it isn't possible for you to do it.

thats just the thing tho. my car has no spare, back seats, a/c, and it has a tubular k. im on mickey thompson dr's and it done some 1.6 60's with the yank ss4000. i sent it back and had it restalled to a 3600 because it was a lil too loose for the kit. but i would've never thought that going from a 4000 to a 3600 would take me from 1.6's to 1.8's.

...oh, and about the weather. it was relatively warm but not much warmer than just a few weeks ago when it done some 7.6's. i went from 7.6's with 1.8's a couple weeks ago to 7.9's with 1.8's this past week and haven't changed A THING
