Default slip

well i think its a slip....
when i take off, if i baby my 99 T/A, it is fine, and if i go WOT, its fine, but anywhere in between, when i reach between 2000-2500 RPM, it feels like my tranny slips out of gear. kinda feels like i lifeted my foot off the gas, but the RPMs climb to about 3000 and it grabs(not hard or anything) but continues to speed up. this annoys me because i lost a redlight takeoff to a cobalt SS the other day because of it. help?

Well the descriptions a little odd but I think you maybe are sliping through one of the gears. What does the fluid look/smell like and how many miles are on it. May be time for a built trans , 1st step away from being all stock get a converter too.
