Default Had a flex plate come appart on you? inside please

has anyone had a flex plate come completely appart...?

a car i just got had the flex plate come appart.. one chunk of the flex plate decided to make a B line to the exterior.. blew the bottom out of the bell housing of the trans... anyone else had the flex plate come appart that bad that it made a hole in the bell housing?

I have seen it happen But ussually there were signs long before that happened Noise and vibration

01 and 02 Flexplates are well known to crack so the possibility is there if you kept driving it until it completely failed. You are actually lucky. the chunk could have come apart and blown a hole into the car and through your leg.

SFI Flexplate is the way to go!

yeah well i didnt do it to the car. and im lucky that it exited out the bottom.. not out the top or side or anything else.. could have gotten messy..

thats the reason most after market plates are SFI...

anything is possible
