spray question
Just trying to figure out where is the issue with spraying a pt4000. Does it blow through bad when you launch on spray or throughout the run. I dont mind getting a pt4000 and spraying from 2nd gear on

Well... without any details about your powertrain combination there really is no way to predict what might happen. How much N2O are we talking about?
But, I can generalize. The 4,000 rpm stall converter is pretty dang loose for a street application. Lot's of guys run them, but I can tell you that we have removed our fair share of them as well. Some guys find them to be too much for the street. Some guys love them.

The SS4000 would be a better choice for spray since it is significantly tighter than the PT4000. I believe the issue is the shift extension with spray. My PT4400 has a shift extension of ~5800 shifting at 6500. The PT4000 wouldn't be too far off from that. Add spray and it's not such a great combo. There have been reported issues with blowing through as well. I know some people have done it, but most, including Yank, don't recommend it. I chose the PT series because I knew I wouldn't be spraying my car.
