Default need help figuring out what went wrong

i got my tranny (4L60e) rebuilt about 20k miles ago and had a 3600vig put in.

everything was fine until yesterday.

i went to the bass pro shop to buy some goodies. when i was driving through the parking lot to leave (about 7mph) everything was fine. then i stopped at a stop sign and the car didnt want to move forward after i stepped on the gas, it would just barely creep as i revved it so i coasted to a empty parking spot.

every gear is like neutral, even reverse. i let it sit for an hour or so and i tried it again. it was the same thing it drove fine for about 50ft then nothing (it felt like the converter was trying to grap but wouldnt)

so if any of you transmission guru's could give me any ideas that would be great, go you think the pump may be shot?

Sounds like the filter may be clogged, What happens is when you turn the car off a bit fluid drains back and rinses it out but when you start car for a short time fluild can travel , But then it stops again as soon as the trash is picked back up, The debris clogging the filter are likley either from a trans or converter failure

Well unfortunatly I doubt it. I cant think of anything else. Now the source of the contamination could be either the trans or the converter. But in either case if I am correct you will be going through both or replacing. One thing I would do and I assumed you allready have make sure it is full of fluid also.

Did you lose all the gears to the 'neutral' feel at once or did you happen to notice if perhaps it began with OD not working and then progressed? Before my 80e bit the dust OD acted like neutral. Then D about a day later. Then 2 and 1 very shortly after. I had a broken sprag in mine, dunno if that will apply to your situation or not.

nope.. everything all at once..

the only thing i thought was funny was on really cold mornings (im in florida, so i consider 50* really cold) my converter wouldn't lock up until the car was fully warm. but its done that since day 1.

That would actually be normal the PCM will not allow lockup till the engine temp gets to around 130-140 degrees.
