Default Quick question

I have been chasing down this noise for a while that my car has been making.

Its a weird noise and i really cant type it in words, but when i launch the car from a slow roll or from a stop i hear a really loud crackling sound, the transmission shifts normal and i never feel slipping or anything, im just trying to rule out the Tranny because they arent cheap.

i bought some new LCA bushings hoping its them clanging metal on metal when i put the stress on the car launching it. i just dont want to be replacing everything and still get nothing solved.

anything will help, thanks guys.

Automatic transmissions rarely make any noticeable noises unless there is a catastrophic failure.

Did this begin after you installed the LCA's?

no i haven't put them in yet, the tranny works great, there is just an odd noise my car makes from a slow roll or from a stop when i WOT, im just ruling out things to help find the noise, it could even be my exhaust hitting, when i get it on a lift ill check all that stuff out.

its just the 1LE bushings on the stock LCA's

Oh I see.

Then if you have access to a rack... check your Torque Arm bushings. Check the arm itself for cracks as well.

Also, inspect your driveshaft very thoroughly. Some aluminum driveshafts make a noise similar to what you have described.

Inspect you motor and tranny mounts.

You would be surprised how any vehicles I have repaired in my life just by tking the tie to do a very log and thorough visual inspection. Take your time and you'll find it.

Thanks man, I appreciate it.

Keep in mind we can handle any of the cars in that stable. If your dad or brother need some advice or a freshen up we handle old school rigs as well!
