Default Doesn't feel right?

I rebuilt a tranny about 3 months ago and finally got the truck started this last weekend. For what ever reason it feels like it is binding. In park, if I goto rev the motor it seems like something in the tranny is holding it back. It seems to shift into reverse and forward, firm/harsh but it does. If I put it into neutral and start to rev it up, it will be sluggish but soon as it gets up higher in the RPM it spins/spools up like it should rev. Anybody have any thoughts ideas??? I haven't been able to verify if it has any other gears. I don't want to drive it, so I have been putting it on stands.

I do know I am asking a pretty vague question.

What transmission is this?

What converter are you running?

How deep did you go into the unit? Did you replace all of the seals... all of them?

Based on the info given, I would say there is a cross leak somewhere in the unit. Get back to us with more info and we'll go from there.

4l60e with a stock converter.
The tranny *bought used* was supposed to have under 10k miles on it. So I swapped out the clutches, band, servo, and a shift kit. I looked at the seals and the ones I could easily replace I did. I did put a new set of valve body gaskets on it.

Then what you need to do is get a scanner on it. Determine if there are any DTC's.

Then you'll need to take a long look at the Servo. It is possible that the band is partially applying.

There isn't any DTC's that I have been able to see. What would I look for, that was one thing I didn't like how it went back together.
