quick stall conv question...
i have a 97 ws6..currently it is 100% stock with the exception of nitrous and a borla catback..
i just got a new trans, and am trying to pick out a converter.
the current plan for the car since i just bought the ****,is to toss in a cc503 cam kit,on a set of my home ported heads{similiar to an LE2} and i picked up a 3.73 gear for the car.
i have the chance to pickup a vig 4400,while im told this is a bit excessive, ive also been told the car should move out pretty decent with this converter,i also have the chance to get a vig 3k verter,or a tci 2800.
what would you guys personally go with, and why?

I agree with the above statement about the needs of the car. I have always heard that the vig converters stall higher than their advertisted stall too so that 4400 might actually stall at more like 4600 or 4800. It also depends on how much driveability you like. A big loose stall like that some people don't like for daily driving and others don't mind it. I run a Yank 3600 and I wish I had gone bigger like a 4000 or 4400 stall because the loose converter does not really bother me. I would probably go with a vig 3200 or 3600 in your shoes and see what you think. If you want more you can always have it restalled to a higher rpm.
