Anytime you change something that increases power it also increases the rate of RPM increase, So it may be necessary that you increase the distance between commanded and actual shift. I would try this first

that happen to me also when I installed my ms4 but it did not do that until I got it tuned so I think the extra stress just killed it. also when you manually put the car in 3rd does it feel like is in neutral or does it work when you manually shift it? mine did not work either way concluding that the trans is gone.

Well its always possible the trans is gone but at the same time its certainly worth trying to lower the shift point first particularly if its shifting normally at lighter throttle

GUY UP ABOVE YOUR TRANNY WAS PROBALLY GONE. Stock trannys dont last lol I ran my lv2 for a year and half no problems. plenty of low 10sec passes. FRANK IS THE MAN. TUNNING If you put a high rev cam in your car it will change your Rpm that your car is capable of making take a ms3 cam I can turn it to 7000 rpms vs a factory cam lets you maybe turn 6300 or so. basically it would just shift early unless you change your shift points. You will then need if its a ls1 hp tuners or EFI if you are a lt1 you may have to send off for a mail order tune or see if there are sponsors on here. That can tune it. OH yea be careful about mail order tunes do research. There was a guy at that track that got a mail order tune for a ls1 and it sucked his car ran slower after it. DO YOUR HOMEWORK.

What you could do blackta96 is take it to a tranny shop and see if they can put a scanner on it. And see if it is. After I had my tranny install I my car shifted to early driving daily and when I hammered it. Come to find out I had to change my shift command and shift points. You can tell to if your tranny is fried by smelling the tranny fluild if it has a burned smell to it may have gotten to hot a time or too. Do you have a tranny cooler

my stock 4l60e did the same thing till i rebuilt it. shift fine with no spray .spray it and hit the limiter every time before it would shift. a trans go shift kit was night and day diff even after the rebuild. worth every penny.

besides i put 3 washers in for the 1-2 race shift and it is breakeing loose at the track it shifts so damn hard so i am pulling 1 washer and then will tune the rest to how i want it.

I can't say enough about what that trans go kit did for my trans.

but if youre trans has some miles it is prob toast. I tore mine down replaced 3-4 clutch pack and put in a 2nd gear kevlar band and had to replace the drum and for today is still alive. prob better just to have a one built than put a bandaid on like i did
