That's like asking who makes a better truck. Chevy or Ford. You're going to get a lot of answers, but they both have great reputations. Call them up and speak to them.

I've heard great things from both of them while looking over the boards. I will give them a call as soon as mine goes. I don't think you'll make a bad decision by choosing either of them.

I agree, both companies have great reputations and tons of great posts here on the forum. I can say first hand that I went with Performabuilt and Frank and his transmission are just plain awesome. I kept calling Frank and bugging him with every little detail and question I had and he was super nice and willing to help every time. Some times I even talked to him late at night and he was still very willing to help. I have not thrown a ton of power at my lvl 2 yet but so far it shifts great, nice quick firm shifts. I am sure you will have good luck with either company. Good Luck.

Just go ahead and call them both. Cant go wrong with either. Just ask about customer service etc etc and figure out which one is best for you.

I agree. I would not hesitate to go with either. Personally, my ideal transmission would take my favorite parts from each to make a fantastic tranny.
IMHO, I would talk to both, as suggested. It is a win-win situation.

Mine too. Vince still calls from time to time to see how everything is going...and I've had my tranny for a year now. My experience and my vote go to FLT!

I don't think you can go wrong with either one. I'm sure my stocker won't last much longer now that i've removed TM so I'm starting to look around.

To be honest it will probably come down to whoever is running the best sale at the time...

Be sure to give us a look as well! ACE Racing Transmissions has been a Sponsor here for quite sometime. We have earned the respect of our clients by providing an excellent product at a fair price, not to mention when you call the shop you speak to me... the owner.

No doubt the FLT and Performabuilt can provide you with terrific customer service and a nice transmission, but I think if you do your homework you'll find us to be contenders as well!

Good Luck!

I went with RPM, but out of the two I would go with FLT. I have seen more happy FLT customers. I was going to buy a FLT tranny but they were backed up a few weeks. Check the sponsor list for other builders too. ---->

We are fortunate to have the best transmission people on our side. All of our sponsors can put an awesome product on the table.

My experiance with FLT has been one of story book style... From Chuck wading through a flooded shop while answering my questions to a 60E clicking off multiple 9 second passes in a TRUCK!

FLT guys will have my trans business until the day I hang up my helmet.

i talked to both but i ended up going with performabuilt. they have great customer service and got the trans to me quickly. when i called flt, though great guys as well, told me it would be a month before they could get a trans to me. i also have a couple buddies running performabuilts in pretty strong cars and they are very happy with them.

I have a non- sponsors trans..On the dyno my drive shaft broke and broke my tailshaft/input shaft on my trans...I did not know what to do and made a post about it..Frank calmed me down and assured me that the company I bought my trans form would help me out,and then offered assistance and said to call him if I needed more help..Was not even his trans and he was willing to help!! As soon as the weekend was over I called the company I bought trans from and they did repaired the tailshaft/input shaft...So all is good..I always remembered that Frank pm his number and said call anytime and I'll help, and again it was not his trans..My trans has been flawless for a couple of years, but it if I go F/I and decide to go with a 4l80e Frank WILL get a call..Awsome customer service from that guy
