My prediction is that it'll be faster than the ZL1 on the drag strip, but slower on the road courses. In other words...it's going to be the next big fanboy argument. Which matters more?...acceleration or cornering? Naturally, it won't matter in the real world, since neither car will see its performance potential on public streets under "legal" conditions.
I think the '13 Shelby will still be quite impressive on the road courses (especially for having a live axle), but I don't see it competing with a car that has electronic magnetic suspension. I still think the ZL1's curb weight is ridiculous, but I commend GM on going for broke with the suspension to get it to handle with much lighter cars.
