So basically who ever takes December takes the year....GM better start getting some deals out on the Camaro it seems to work for Ford.
Challengers seem to be selling quite well, Dodge never intended for the car to be a huge seller like the Camaro/Mustang.

The Camaro has a better chance at being the overall best seller of the year, but many are thinking the same thing about later. Clearly, it's obvious that many people believe the car is dated in looks. That will change, but GM is definitely dragging it to the end.

"Competitively" equipped, GM says the SS would cost $33,180 vs $30,505 for the GT and $30,990 for the Challenger R/T! $2,000 plus is more than many wanna spend, incentives or not. There's also a roughly(if not exact, but it's their site, so...) $2,500 difference between 2013 V6 models and there's still a big difference in the 1SS vs GT, each having gone up some. The SS starts at $32,635 while the GT price begins at $30,300. So the price gap has lowered, but probably not enough in the scheme of things. Again, "competitively equipped," the SS is nearly $2,500 more. Financing isn't really an issue. I'd never use a dealer to finance a new vehicle unless my credit union disappeared or the dealer offered 0% or something else much better than the normal sources.
By the tame token, the GM site says the Challenger for 2013 is still a 373hp car, which we all know is way off without even looking it up. It also lists the GT's hp at 412. The odd thing I noted on the Ford side is, no bonus available for Mustang. There is a $500 incentive available for the Camaro, but considering how much more it costs to start, that's only 25% of the way to worthwhile.

GM is also offering a $1500 redemption allowance on 5th gens. if you have a GM card with enough points built up. that's weak because i have way more than that. when i almost bought one about 6 months ago they were offering 2k in points plus a $500 loyalty bonus.
its obvious theyre trying to win this sales war but theyre going to have to try harder to get my money.

If you can get a new 2013 with HUD and NAV for under 30k, I recommend the purchase... if you want a new SS, anyway. At that price, GM is clearly trying about as hard as it can to nearly GIVE AWAY the Camaro. Perhaps if the bean counters weren't such idiots, they'd simply lower the initial price and have less give to give... having started at a more reasonable price, they'd almost surely sell many more.

When's the next gen slated to be revealed? I forget. Maybe that has something to do with it. They have sold a gazillion of these cars already, in a less-than-favorable economy, which is pretty darn impressive. But now maybe people are starting to wonder about the next upgrade. I want to see what the 6th gen is supposed to be like (and GM had better not screw it up). Although at the same time, my 4th gen isn't going anywhere.

Hopefully they dont overhype the next gen camaro long before its released kinda like the current 5th gens. Those were outdated before they were released. Especially the ZL1.
