My guess is just wishful thinking.
2013 Trans AM SS ($31,850) features the 6.2-liter V8, a Tremec 6-speed manual gearbox (same as Corvette) with limited slip differential, and the Sport cloth seats. The SS has special exterior trim, a beefier suspension, 20-inch painted aluminum wheels, and four-piston Brembo disc brakes. The 2SS ($3,600) upgrades to leather-appointed seats, heated front seats, rearview camera, multi-function auxiliary gauges, head-up display, Bluetooth, PDIM wireless auxiliary device control, Universal home remote, steering wheel-mounted controls, auto-dimming mirror, heated mirrors. There's a new optional suspension package for the SS models, called FE4. The special edition package ($1,375) includes the retro hood and deck stripes, HID headlamps with integrated LED halo rings, 20-inch aluminum wheels, and interior trim with accent stitching and anniversary logos.

That seem like BS. If GM would be seriously thinking of bringing Pontiac back it would be a media sensation, think of the news all over magazines, websites, etc....not an obscure poorly written web article. Would believe it when GM OFFICIALLY makes a serious announcement.

They never did (or maybe at least at first), they had to pay the race association that ran trans am racing for every car made.
Plus isn't Trans Am depot making them now? I could swear theirs were GM approved too. I also don't think Pontiac would use the SS as a trim level, they never did before.

Probably fake. Whoever put the screaming chicken on the hood in photoshop was too lazy to even change otu the camaro wheels.
But at least you just got him another 1000 ad views and a few bucks $$$

Then again maybe they will eventually bring it back, it's not like there wouldn't be a market. Look at SRT, they brought the Cuda' back to life even though Plymouth is deader than Pontiac. I'm not saying next gen even, but if the Trans am Depot keeps selling them then maybe we see a trans am/firebird variant of the camaro. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
