Back to the drag strip, funny story
In my 2010 CTS-V:
Made 5 passes, car was very consistent, only varied by .04 sec and .3 mph. No new bests because the DA was 6,900' to 7,200'. Ran 11.88 to 11.92 @ 117.9ish.
On one run I made a believer out of a younger guy (hell, everybody's younger than me at the track). He pulled into the staging lanes in a brand new "Transformer" edition SS Camaro, I asked him it he'd care to run a Cadillac? He looked at the car, rather perplexed, and asked if it was fast? I replied it runs pretty good.
I beat him by over 4 seconds.

and i dont think he was a good driver either. if you beat him by over 4 sec, then either
he couldnt drive that car or the new SSs are even slower than i thought.
and i thought the were real slow.
then again maybe the transformer SS is a POS?
good job though dude, i wanna see a CTS-V hauling *** one day at the track one day

A couple of points here. The 4 seconds was a combination of reaction time and ET. I treed him pretty good. Also, this was his first time at the strip with the car, he only had it for 3 weeks. That was his first run, a 15.9, he did improve to a 14.5 by the end of the day.
Also, these runs were at about 7,000 feet DA. He was down 21% in power compared to sea level. I've modded my CTS-V to get it back to stock power level at this altitude. Stock is about 445 rwhp, I'm at 435rwhp actual, depending on the day.
It really was an ambush, he didn't know what a V was, but I bet he does now.
