Default Factory Bose Sub gain adjustability?

Hey Guys,

I was just wondering if there was a way to turn up the gain on the factory Bose Sub? I found the amp in the left rear of the trunk, and took a look, but didn't see any adjustments.

I remember my stepfather's 04 GTO had a "gain" pot right on it, and I know it's sort of the same platform. But that car also had a Blaupunkt (?) radio and not a Bose.

I searched both here and on Google, and couldn't come up with the correct search terms to even get close to the answer I was looking for. Doh. Any help would be appreciated.

TIA!

The only way to "fix" the factory sub is to replace it and wire in another amp to drive it.

The stock one doesn't even make a good door stop.

Does anyone know what the factory amp puts out for wattage to the sub? Is it an 8ohm sub?

If you want, pm me your email address and I will send you pics of what to splice into.

The factory sub is 4 or 2 ohm.

You will end up adding an amp.

I spliced into the brown wire on the keyswitch for the remote turn on.

Just lift up the steering wheel for best access.
