Install Price Maggie/Cam
#4
I would say 2000 seems around right. About 1000 for Maggie. 500 for tune minimum and minimum 500 for cam but probably closer to 800. Id do the Maggie yourself. It's not hard.

You can actually drive the car after the install as long are you stay out of boost conditions. IF you are driving under 20 miles to a tuner it would save having it towed. if its farther i would consider a tow.

I know you don't have a garage or somewhere to do it, but yeah I dont think the install is much but the cam is what will get you. Like other's have said, Maggie installation is 10hrs IIRC ($1000), $500 for tune and $500 for cam.

cam and spring job will usually take the better part of the day. ive done a few in my v and many many more in other cars and if you dont have to do the springs and you know whatt you are doin it only takes a few hours or more. if youve never don it and you do have to do springs good luck. that at a shop is easy 10+ hours and a couple days by yourself

Really? It doesn't seem like driving 20 miles with 60lb injectors on a tune for 28lb injectors would work very well. I'm no fuel and tuning expert but it seems to me that you would be dumping fuel pretty heavily and cause all sorts of problems. Even if you get a maggie kit with 42lb injectors, it doesn't sound like a good idea.

I agree with the standard rates that the others said...$1000 each. I would also recommend doing your own maggie install. It was my first real experience wrenching and it wasn't a big deal. A buddy and I did it in about 10 hours I believe. As long as you can follow basic instructions it's an easy way to save $1000.

I want to install the maggie myself but dont have all the required tools listed on the instructions and it would only be me doing the install. Don't both cam and maggie installs require you to remove the radiator and the crank bolt.

I opted for the LS2 snout with a 90mm TB on my LS6, so I couldn't drive it to a tuner. The tuner still happened to be about a 2 hour drive from me too.
