Neutral safety switch
So I got my car back from the dealer and they replaced a bad cat and changed my oil. They unplugged my battery while doing the work.
Got my car and the last few days its had an intermittent start issue. Symptoms are like this, put key in, step in the clutch, and nothing. Try it a few times and randomly it will start normal.
Ive tried a few different combos with starting over and over again with the key and I have found that it usually starts if I let the clutch out, and step it back in again.
My guess is there may be something wrong with the neutral safety switch? Where should I start my trouble shoot? Sometimes it will just start first try.
Edit: Battery is charged, I took it on a 30 minute highway cruise, as well as left it on a battery tender for over 24 hours.

I came across this in my search. The part you're speaking about is actually called the clutch position switch. I just finished doing my best impression of a contortionist and taking my CPS out because my cruise control isn't working. Fun, fun.

I didn't have any CEL's but I plugged in my OBD II reader this morning just to see. Sure enough there was a code for the CPS. I cleared it and now CC is working just fine. Of course, disengaging the clutch doesn't cancel the CC, and the car will start without disengaging the clutch, but It'll fix that when I get the new CPS installed (special order).

So scanned it. no codes, This weekend ill try jumping out the sensor to see if anything changes. Anyone know i f there are any wires or connectors near the bank 2 cat that may have been messed up when the dealer replaced the cat? I took a quick peak yesterday and didnt really notice anything a muck.

ok for future reference for anyone searching, my clutch position switch springs were pretty jacked. I ordered a new one from ac delco off of amazon for 26 bucks shipped. AC delco part number is D2230C. The part number I used to find that was the number on my original part which is 11516184. We will see if this is the culprit

If you're impatient and want to see if that's your culprit without waiting for the new part, just 'jump' the connector with paper clips. I posted a pic on my thread related to this.
