Default '04 V Competative Driving Mode

My '04 V won't enter into "competative driving mode". Any thoughts on why? I can engage and disengage T/C, but not CDM or stability control modes. Is there a reset or does the dealership have to do it?

I didnt even know we had a competitve driving mode. I knew my C5 did, how are you supposed to turn it on in the V?

If your TPMS are not functioning or readi g too low, it will lock you out. The FAQ has procedures for overriding this.

the Radio probably thinks it is a BASE cts not a V.. Dealer tech probably forgot to reflash it for the V after a radio install..

best way to check is in the personalization settings if the radio has the ability to change the steering wheel controls functions[ 1..2..3...4 buttons on the stock CTS wheel..] then thats the issue. it is still unclear if you have comp mode without the indicator.. imo from what ive read, if you change the stock nav you lose comp mode. it reverts back to CTS BASE programing

bottom line is the dealership will have to reflash the Radio with a techII

I had a new radio and nav installed by the dealer last year, but the car CDM function worked after installation. I'll just have them re-flash it and see if that cures the issue. Thanks!

Forgive me, but I'm not good at the accronyms yet. What does "TPMS" mean?

On my V, you push the T/C button twice and it goes into CDM...when it worked anyway. Working on the fix now.

you can relive those days in the V, just hold the TC button down until it disables the system completely...

Almost bought a used one a while back, so tempting.

Fully aware sir, still looking for a permanent off switch that won't cause other issues. The two V's I've owned are the only cars I've ever had with any sort of stability system.
