Well guys I told him no without some cash. He didn't want to add cash so we kept our respective cars.
I have been looking at selling but I got some tire kickers down here in Houston lol. I really need a 4 door as my fiance is prego with our 2nd and the 1st is getting big lol! Just want a family car that doesn't suck to drive. Not sure how I am going to get it done if someone doesn't come buy it.

keep and enjoy your Camaro.... from what i've read in this thread, it sounds like you have way too much invested into it to just let it go from some trashy/salvage title V1.
as a new father, i understand why you're wanting to get something more family friendly.... but do you HAVE to get rid of the F-Body to get a family car? what does your lady drive? before buying my V1 last year my wife & i already had a 2011 Civic sedan & 2012 CRV.... 2 family friendly vehicles. but because "happy wife, happy life" i got bamboozled into my V1 when i should've stuck to my guns and went with a C5 Vette. so what i'm trying to say is.... don't be like me.
i don't know your budget or financial situation but if you can afford it, keep the Camaro and go scoop up a little 4 door car or suv, i'd recommend something that won't entice you to modify. if this is a case of the Camaro must go and you want to replace it with something fun & family friendly.... sell it outright and buy a nicely kept/low mileage V1 or TBSS.

I was in a similar position about 5 years ago, had to sell my Z28 with a cammed LS3. Bought a Suburban for family duty. I miss that car but do not regret the decision. Buy a beater SUV and keep the Z if you can. Sell the Z and buy a V or TB SS if that works. If you must, sell the Z and buy a nice SUV. Take care of the wife (and kids) first, there will always be cars. I had to wait a few years to get back into a hot rod but it was worth the wait and now I have the wife's blessing to boot for making the right decision when it mattered. Avoid that 181k V1 like the plague, that thing is an ulcer, a gray balding head, and migraines all wrapped up in one.

That was the Car! I wasn't trying to put anyone on blast though, lol. I really like my Z28. At this point in the game, I would love to keep it and continue to make it into a road race car that I want. I plan on making it into something that can outperform a new Z28 and/or GT350R. Got some work to do but it is a progress. I want to have a magazine do a comparison too!
I do have plans, but if I could get something that doesn't suck to drive (underpowered and/or automatic trans), I would let it go. At that point I could haul the Family around and not have something that sucks lol. Like I stated above I really like the E39 M5 and the V1 was the only compromise I was willing to make. The E60 is my ultimate want but is a bit out of the price range. I suppose I will keep this car and perhaps by a 6-speed 540i or something like that and just wait to save for it. I love the idea of a LS powered sedan with a 6-speed!
The trade definitely didn't seem to favor me so unless he comes up with cash, I cannot do it.

I too was looking at the E39 M5 as well as the V1 and V2. BMW will eat you alive on maintenance and repairs and bottom line, if you can handle your Z, you can probably handle the V1 just fine. I didn't want to stress over the higher payment on a V2 with a new job so the V1 made sense. With a new family, do NOT get the Bimmer...trust me. Keeping one of those correctly c0$t$ ca$h and not doing so will leave you stuck. You're in it deep on your Z but have a reliable-ish fun car, just spend 4-5k and get a Suburban or Tahoe, you can find decent ones out there for that money. Coast and make sure everything will hold together. Trust me on that one too. You've asked for advice and you've gotten it, good advice...take it brother.

There are good SUVs out there, just have to know what you're looking at.
