fellow cammed guys...
Can you guys post up some vids of your idle and slight rev from engine bay with beauty cover off? My valvetrain seems to have gotten much louder since my oil change 500 miles after cam swap. More or less lifter tick, but ALL of them. Cant find a pronounced lifter/rocker ticking more than the rest. When i pull up in drive thru's and/or park next to walls, it sounds really really bad. I have actually had people tell me that something is loose and to check. Everything is still torqued good. No excessive rocker play. Dual springs look great.
I bought a pushrod length checker to check everything. Here is what i came up with.
7702 checker is 6.8 min.
took 10-1/2 turns --- thats 7.325 since every turn is .050.
6.8 + (10.5*.050)= 7.325
Take my current pushrod length -- 7.400 and subtract 7.325. That gives me
.075 lifter preload.
Is this enough. Ive found that stock is .060 to .120.

I'll try to take a quick video this morning and get it up on youtube.
I have dual springs with a high lift cam and I can definitely hear the valvetrain noise while driving. I was worried at first so I went back to my tuner and he said that is normal. It just takes getting used to.

I will check mine this weekend. I didn't have any noise from the valvetrain, but noise from the headers (swapped out the gasket and it went away).
The valvetrain noise is also dependent on the springs you used, some are louder than others.

From what ive read, aftermarket roller rockers quiet down the valvetrain quite a bit but really dont have much other advantages for the money over our stock ones which are some of the best factory rockers made. If it bothers you that much check into yella terra rockers.

I'll put up a vid tonight when I get home. We'll see what you guys think then. I am almost thinking it is so over powering because I don't have the exhaust to go with it like some would expect.
