I know a local guy had an 8.8 setup he was working on. He said he had it pretty much all mocked up... just needed to play with the install. Not sure if he ever did it or not but id be extremely interested in this as i can get an 8.8 for rather cheap.

If creative steel really makes a mount kit, that would be nice! Im sure axels wouldnt be too bad. Wonder if someone makes them in the proper length with the V's 6 lug pattern. I wouldnt mind doing a 5-lug conversion on mine just to get some more wheel options.

Even if you needed custom axles, DSS should beable to make them fairly easily, you could reuse your stock outer CVs, (or buy a set of their race outer CV's) I am sure they have a sed of inner CV joints for a ford 8.8 with whatever spline size you have (or use a stock inner CV) then ask them how you should measure for shaft length and tell them what cv's you will be running on either end so they can size the shaft for you.
For the pose above about lug pattern, IRS cars arenot like solid axles, there is a seperate hub that stays the same that has the wheelbolt pattern on it.

unfortunately with this typ of swap its not the diff thats the expense, its the custom axles and brackets and welding that adds up. Realistically i dont see it being much cheaper then any premade kit. Just cause its an 8.8 doesnt mean its bulletproof. you still have to build the internals of them to handle the abuse.

and well if it breaks i can get used 8.8s all day cheap.
so to me at this point its more cost affective to go this route.
