I want to put in an iPod adapter on my 04 CTS-V. I have used other products in the past on different vehicles and the sound quality was horrible and had static.

Anyone experience this with the USA SPEC PA-11 Vette?

Let me here your thoughts or if you think there is a better product to go with?

I have the USA spec adapter it works great , no static and no noise , only complaint is the volume is not as loud as a cd

I just did the PA-50vette, not to bad,sounds good no static just have to cycle it to FM after starting the car or I hear the XM preview channel in the background.

Does the iPod play through XM1 or do you have a choice?

Will I be able to browse songs, playlists, artists, albums, and genres right off of the radio?

I installed a USA-SPEC on my gf's SRX...sounds perfect.

If you have a V, just splice into the XM wires and use one of those Radio Shack cords. I think it was $3 total? I did it, and mine sounds flawless!

Yes, With my USA-Spec adapter, XM1 becomes the iPod and XM2 remains as XM for use.

I've seen that. I think the PA15 VETTE one interfaces differently.

I've got the PA15 VETTE and installed it myself.

The only real hard thing to do, is you have to go underneath the carpet at the rear shelf, and unplug the XM line from the receiver thingy that's back there. You place the one in line with the stock one, and plug it all back up.

Easy to do. The plug will be under the drivers side of the carpet between the subwoofer and the side moulding. To get the carpet up, you have to undo the bolts just behind the rear seats.

The instructions you get with it from crutchfield were spot on.

Sorry, to clarify, I meant the use. I installed it already, and it worked awesome. Wanted to see if there was a crypt sheet on how to use the head unit to control the iPod, like scrolling through artists/songs/albums, etc.

I had a Neo pro kit in my old V and it was great. No static and sound quality was excellent.

Is there any difference in ease of installation between the PA15 and the Neo Pro? Or any other options that are easy? The apple features don't matter to me, I have an android phone.

But I don't want to do the cheapo hack where you just cut the XM line and splice in an RCA cable. It has to be easily reversible and other than that preference goes to whatever is simpler to install.

The PA50 with A2DP sounds the most interesting, but they don't have the bluetooth add-on yet, and I think I recall someone here stating it sucked.

I have both the PA15-VETTE and the PA50-VETTE. You probably remember me telling people to avoid the PA50-VETTE like the plague.

Anything requiring you to interface with the XM/Sirius receiver in the rear deck of the CTS-V is a pain in the *** to install because you have to remove the entire back seat and the rear pillar trim pieces to get to the XM/Sirius receiver.

My conclusion regarding all of these add-in iPod/iPhone integration kits is that their controls suck. It's not necessarily the developer's fault--they have a very limited set of buttons and display options to work with in our cars. Regardless of the kit you choose, you'll inevitably wind up enabling the direct control mode, picking your favorite songs / playlists on your iPod/iPhone directly, and then adjusting volume and skipping through music on the steering wheel.

That said, the PA50-VETTE's interface and audio quality is horrible, which is a surprise coming from the PA15-VETTE, which has spectacular sound quality and mildly unobnoxious controls. With respect to the bursts of static that I got, I may have gotten a bum unit, but in my opinion, until USA Spec actually develops a Bluetooth interface and puts a price on it, it's not worth taking the risk on the PA50-VETTE given the amount of time you'll be risking to install it only to find out that it's a dud.

FWIW, the PA15-VETTE is $135 on Amazon and $127 on eBay and elsewhere.
