ticket doing 63 in a 65 zone
Md. State troopers at it again...Remember the biker who had the helmet cam a yr. ago and had a gun pointed to his head...welcome to Md. The SS State.
Only in Md. I wake up and look at the Yahoo front page and this vid.is what I see.. Cops should be there to protect the public and serve us, NOT enrage us..I could see if the young lady was doing 55/60 but 63? she didn't even get a warning..This is BS. I guess the trooper was late meeting his buddies at the local 7/11 for another coffee break..this is BS..There were 3 other lanes, available, that's why cars have STEERING WHEELS....This is harassment at it's finest....Only in Md..

No sympathy. Drivers here in Michigan are horrible at cruising in the fast/passing lane. I call them "Pace" cars cause there will be a line of cars behind them and they still won't move to the middle lane.

The Driver in me says **** yeah.
But by law, ticketing someone for not exceeding the speed limit is INSANE.
I mean in FL they have minimum speeds on highways but its normally 15mph or so under the limit.

That is ridiculous. That trooper exceeded his authority and infringed on the rights of a citizen for a made up charge. They won't do squat to him though.
If you guys hate slow drivers this much, watch what happens in 10 years when all the boomers his their 70s. It's gonna be Slowtown USA

MD is already getting that way with all of the cameras scaring the moronic masses. I95 your lucky to hit 70 without cutting through traffic.
And the 55mph limit on the ICC with their own 12+ car barrack just for it is NUTS. Its a Toll road where they sub in tickets to help boost toll fees.

While I personally despise every aspect of what the "People's Republic of Maryland" has come to be, I personally applaud the actions of this Officer. I have actually been pulled over and ticketed in VA for passing on the right when two of the left lanes of the four lanes on Rt 66 were occupied by two drivers traveling below the speed limit. I won that case by argument
You really have no idea how bad drivers and driving enforcement is here in the US until you travel to Germany. Now, maybe it's a little excessive to be ticketed b/c another driver called the Polizei and told them that you used obscene hand gestures or had a child not secured in a car seat (yeah, you can get ticketed for that based upon random drivers calling in) but here are the best things:
1. If you cause an at fault accident, everyone in the resulting backup can sue you for their time being wasted.
2. You must drive right (in the right hand lane) and only use the left lanes for passing. You get heavily fined for not doing so and fined even more for not yielding.
3. German speed/red light tickets are issued by taking the drivers picture and matching their pic to the actual driver since Germany uses biometric pic for everything. No driver identified = no ticket. Bad thing is fines imposed are based upon the offenders income level, which can get pricey.
******* right! That's what I would be doing if I was driving a cruiser.
