Finally ran her on the dyno after H/C/I/etc install…less than stellar results. HELP!
Hey guys,
Over the course of last winter, I took my stock 2004 V with 30,000 miles, and breathed a little more life into it:
Volant CAI
Nick Williams 102 Throttlebody
Fast 102 Manifold
Fast 36lb injectors
TEA Trickflow 220 Heads
Tick Performance Custom Grind Cam (231/234 .617"/.576" 114+3)
Kooks 1 3/4" headers and Hi-Flow Cats
Borla Cat back Exhaust
(Misc. stuff like LS7 lifters, LS2 Timing chain, etc.)
Due to my geographical location, I only had access to a (very reputable) LS tuner who used a wide-band to dial everything in. Car felt great, and still feels great. Definitely "zippier" for lack of a better term.
This past week, I was finally able to get her strapped onto a dyno to see the results of my labor., and needless to say, I was a tad disappointed (see chart attached). Martin at Tick Performance helped piece everything together for this build. He estimated the car would put down about 440-450 RWHP when all said and done.
Based on Martin/Tick's fantastic reputation and knowledge, should I assume the tune is to blame for the lower than expected numbers I'm seeing? Secondly, where should I start taking in order to dissect the problem, and correct it? Any advice is always greatly appreciated.

That graph looks super strange, the torque curve is absurd. I would strap it on another dyno, preferably a Dynojet for comparisons sake before I worried about the numbers.

Definitely something wrong with the tune. I have a very similar setup as you and have much better results. Slight difference in cam (233/236 .618/.578 114+3) and I get 417hp, 391tq.

I'm more inclined to think the problem is with the dyno reading than with the tune. The pull sounds clean and smooth on the video. I would expect that if the output had actually jumped by 75ft-lb all of a sudden you would hear it and probably see the car surge, but there's no indication of that at all.
Edit: Karl, has it ever felt to you when you're driving like it suddenly picks up a bunch of power, and then drops off like a rock? 75ft-lb is a big jump over just 400rpm or so. There's no way you wouldn't feel that in the seat of the pants. If you're not feeling a surge of power at higher RPM, then there's something wrong with the dyno reading. Of course, you could still have a suboptimal tune, but I think that dyno curve doesn't match reality.
