PSA - Fuel Module/Harness Recall (N140405) is now actionable
For anyone who hasn't heard yet, this recall is now officially "actionable"; meaning, you can now call your dealerships and have them order the necessary parts and schedule the work to be done (free of charge). Just thought I'd let everyone know. For proof (to bring in to a dealership that's being a PITA) go to recalls.gm.com and type in your VIN. That should be all you need.
That being said... What would be some suggestions for other stuff that should be done while they've got the tank, etc dropped? I'd imagine a bunch of bushings, etc will be readily accessible...?

We've see recently that the driveshaft CVs can get dry so you can check those while its out....
probably seperating fuel lines from the filter (guessing) may as well change it while its apart.....
Check the differential vent...theres a tsb on that and mine only recently started (at 215k) puking diff fluid after swapping to amsoil sever duty...go figure...
Sure there's some other stuff....

LOL, its clearly typed out in my letter from GM "the problem can cause a hole in the fuel line and cause fuel to spill not the ground"...
I have never heard, or seen, of this happening to anyone though. Anyone seen it happen?

The recall number I listed wasn't a type-o, but there are probably a number of different reference numbers for these. Here's someone else's letter that they posted on the FB page, and also the text from the GM Recall lookup site when I ran my VIN.
By the sounds of it, a lot of dealerships are being less than accomodating when people come in to have this looked into. Some are giving run-arounds and saying the racall doesn't affect thier vehicle, some are being told the parts are still unavailable, etc, etc.
I personally went into a local dealership and within 10 minutes they said they'd order the parts and let me know when they were in, so we could schedule the work. They also said they'd have a rental available to me, since it looks to be approximately a 4 hour job. I thought dropping the rear cradle would be more time than that, but we'll see.

GM Recall #:
N140405
NHTSA Recall #:
14V542
Date Issued:
Oct 09, 2014
Recall Title:
VEHICLE HESITATION OR STALL
Recall Description:
General Motors has decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in certain 2004-2007 model year (MY) Cadillac CTS-V and 2006-2007 MY Cadillac STS-V vehicles. In the subject vehicles, the fuel pump module electrical terminal may overheat and cause localized melting of the flange material near the overheated electrical terminal. The melted flange material could create a hole, or leak path, in the fuel pump allowing fuel to escape from the fuel pump module.
Safety Risk Description:
This condition may result in fuel leaking from the fuel pump to the ground, diagnostic leak codes set by evaporated fuel emissions, or intermittent engine performance that could include stalling, increasing the risk of a crash.
Repair Description:
Dealers will replace fuel module and fuel tank jumper harness, free of charge.
