Ls2 swap into my 05 cts v
#21
I just done an LS2 swap in my 05...everything will bolt right on, and use your LS6 intake, if the LS2 is a 24x Crank reluctor you're golden, if it's a 58x you'll need a TRG-002 from Lingenfelter ($250) and you'll either delete the knock sensors and tune them out OR get knock sensor extensions, LS6 sensors are on the Valley cover vs on the side of the block on a LS2

The LS2 I bought didn't have any accessories on it at all, (block and heads only) came from a race car...I used everything from my LS6 on it..just make sure you get the oil pick up tube O ring right or you'll regret it...as for tuning, get it tuned anyhow because the bore is bigger, and the stroke is longer...good luck and TAKE YOUR TIME swapping it out, or you'll have problems tearing it apart changing things later

The LQ9 does have a larger displacement but it also has a lower compression ratio that the LS6...I'm thinking these differences will negate each other.
Just looking for the cheapest replacement engine option for the 04-05 V1 as LS6s and 24x reluctor wheeled LS2s don't grow on trees and they aren't cheap when you do find them.
